These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of the GunBasics MD website located at gunbasicsmd.com (“Site”) and your participation in any training courses, classes, or services offered by GunBasics MD (“Company,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), a sole proprietorship operating in the State of Maryland under the name GunBasics MD, owned and operated by Herb Addy.
Please read these Terms carefully before registering for a class or using the Site. By accessing the Site or registering for any course, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Site or register for any course.
1. Services Offered
GunBasics MD provides in-person firearms safety training, certification courses, and related educational instruction in the State of Maryland. Course offerings include: Maryland Handgun Permit Course, Handgun Qualification License (HQL) Course, Basic Firearm Safety, Beginner Shooting Fundamentals, Concealed Carry Certification, Firearm Selection Assistance, and Firearm Maintenance & Customization.
Course offerings, dates, locations, and pricing are subject to change at any time without prior notice.
2. Eligibility & Prerequisites
By registering for any course, you represent and warrant that you are legally permitted under federal, Maryland state, and applicable local law to handle and possess firearms; you are not prohibited from possessing a firearm under 18 U.S.C. § 922(g); and you will comply with all safety rules and instructor directions at all times. GunBasics MD reserves the right to refuse service to any participant who poses a safety risk.
3. Registration & Payment
Registration is not confirmed until payment is received. We accept Zelle, Apple Pay, Cash App ($HerbAddy), cash, and credit/debit card (3% processing fee applies). Where a deposit option is available, the deposit is required to hold your seat. The remaining balance is due by the date specified on the course listing.
4. Cancellation & Refund Policy
All deposits are non-refundable. If you cancel more than 72 hours before class, the non-deposit portion of your payment may be transferred to a future session. Cancellations within 72 hours and no-shows forfeit the full course fee. If GunBasics MD cancels a class, all amounts paid — including the deposit — will be fully refunded.
5. Assumption of Risk
Firearms training involves inherent risks. By participating, you knowingly assume all risks associated with firearms training and agree to release GunBasics MD and Herb Addy from all claims arising from your participation, except in cases of gross negligence or willful misconduct. A separate written Liability Waiver must be signed before class participation.
6. Conduct & Safety Rules
All participants must: treat every firearm as loaded; never point a firearm at anything you are not willing to destroy; keep finger off trigger until ready to shoot; know your target and what is beyond it; follow all range and instructor rules; refrain from alcohol or impairing substances; and wear required eye and ear protection. Violations may result in removal without refund.
7. Certification
Upon successful completion, GunBasics MD will issue a certificate of completion per applicable Maryland State Police or NRA standards, contingent upon full attendance, satisfactory completion of any examination, and full payment. GunBasics MD makes no guarantee that course completion will result in approval of any government permit or license.
8. Intellectual Property
All content on the Site and course materials are the property of GunBasics MD and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or use any content commercially without express written permission.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by Maryland law, GunBasics MD’s total liability to you shall not exceed the total amount paid by you to GunBasics MD in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.
10. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Maryland. Disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of courts located in Maryland. Before initiating legal action, you agree to provide GunBasics MD at least thirty (30) days to resolve the dispute informally.
11. Privacy
Your use of the Site is governed by our Privacy Policy, incorporated into these Terms by reference.
12. Changes to These Terms
GunBasics MD reserves the right to modify these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Site after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
